On Tuesday, Trump celebrated the one-year anniversary of his second term with a White House briefing packed with victories. "We added $9 trillion of value to retirement accounts, savings accounts, and 401(k)s," the president declared. He also announced that his administration "lifted more than 1.2 million Americans off of food stamps in one year."
Let those numbers sink in for a minute. Nine trillion dollars in wealth created for hardworking Americans in just 12 months. Over a million people who went from government dependence to self-sufficiency. That is not luck. That is leadership.
Trump credited his policies for ending Biden's stagflation and sparking what he called super high economic growth. He pointed to fourth-quarter GDP projections surpassing 5 percent, the best stock market in history, and record high 401(k)s.
"Under Biden, 1 out of 4 jobs added was a government job," Trump said. "Under Trump, 100 percent of all new jobs created have been in the private sector."
The president also celebrated dropping gas prices to as low as $1.99 per gallon in some areas, compared to $4 or $5 under Biden. He said his tariffs slashed the trade deficit by 77 percent and helped secure $18 trillion in new investments.
Trump did not stop at economics. He touted his crackdown on illegal immigration, holding up mugshots of criminals arrested in Minnesota. "Many of them are murderers," he said, contrasting his border enforcement with Biden's open door policies. Trump also announced that for the first time in 50 years, America is seeing reverse migration as illegal entries drop.
On cultural issues, Trump went full America First. He banned transgenders from the military, declared there are only two genders as official U.S. policy, and ended puberty blockers and hormone injections for children.
This is what winning looks like. One year in, and Trump has already delivered on his promises. Three more years to go.
